About Le Fil

A place to meet through culture.

About the association

Le Fil is a non-profit cultural organization based in Brussels, Belgium. The association supports cultural exchange, performing arts, learning, and the continued life of folk traditions and artistic expression.

We believe heritage is strongest when it can be experienced, discussed, practised, and passed on. Our work creates room for communities to share what matters to them while remaining open to new ideas and relationships.

Le Fil contributes to a multicultural city by encouraging expression, curiosity, and respectful participation. Culture is not treated as a display, but as something people make and carry together.

Every thread matters Different histories can meet without losing their own shape, colour, or voice.

Our approach

Listen first. Create together.

Le Fil works in a community-centred way, with care for the people, practices, and histories involved. Activities are designed to be experienced and shaped through participation rather than simply observed.

By making space for dialogue, artistic practice, documentation, and shared learning, we help cultural knowledge remain visible and connected to daily life.
